​EXPERIENCE
• Graphic Packaging International, Flexible/Multi-Wall Division, 2003-present
— Graphic Artist. Design and typesetting of multiwall packaging. I was responsible for an average of 15-20 projects that printed between 400,000 to 600,000 or more a week.
— Small network maintenance and troubleshooting
Other duties included: sign and banner design, customer service and support.
Participated as a shop steward in the local union and on planning committees.
I helped in the AIB, ISO and SQF certification of our plant - and have been involved in the Lean Six Sigma training at our facility in 2012. Helped launch a new product line (Patch PVSE bags) working with the bag engineers and machine operators on the production floor.

— Graphic Design Instructor of community center-based youth. Taught beginning design, typography, computer graphic design, vinyl sign design/cutting and t-shirt making.

— 2001-2003, News Editor: Supervisor for the copy desk, design and layout Page 1A. I oversaw news/features/special section assignment layout and design. Other duties included column and entertainment review writing, story editing, web page design, updating and proofing.
— 2008 Special Section Editor and Sports Page Designer: Designed, planned, wrote copy and laid out special sections. Also planned, designed, and supervised a Friday night high school football special section, “The End Zone” that is still in publication.
